Kerry Nations is an insurance, marketing and communications professional who currently serves as administrator for the Tennessee Insurance Guaranty Association (TIGA). In this role, he oversees the day-to-day business operations of the Association, whose mission is to pay the claim obligations for Tennessee residents whose property, casualty or liability insurance company has been declared insolvent. Kerry joined TIGA following a 34-year career with the Allstate Insurance Company where he held a number of business leadership roles in marketing, communications, public affairs and risk management in regional profit centers and in Allstate’s corporate office. Those roles included underwriting development manager, marketing director, enterprise communications director and senior director of communications supporting the Allstate agency business. Under Kerry’s leadership, Allstate’s regional communication teams won a number of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) awards for professional excellence. He was a leader in teams that helped establish and implement several key regional and national sponsorships, including the former Allstate 400 at the Brickyard (NASCAR) and the Allstate Sugar Bowl (NCAA football). Prior to Allstate, Kerry served a controller for the Mississippi Forestry Association. He has served on the board of directors for the Southern Insurance Information Services, the South Carolina Insurance Association and is a two-time former president of the Alabama Insurance Council. He has helped support a number of public and governmental affairs initiatives, including liability reform, catastrophe reform, rating reform, graduated driver’s licensing for teens and stricter distracted driving legislation. Kerry serves on the board of directors for Equipping Leaders International and leads their reputation risk committee. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and lives with his wife, Janet, in Brentwood, Tennessee. |
