Pilar Velásquez is a Senior Compliance Auditor with the California Insurance Guarantee Association (CIGA), where she has worked for nearly a decade supporting the organization's purpose to serve Californians who have nowhere else to go.

In her current role, Pilar is responsible for leading audits of CIGA’s workers’ compensation programs, as well as key workers’ compensation vendors, including pharmacy benefit managers and legal service providers.  She is an active member of CIGA's Enterprise Risk Committee and Customer Service Committee and works closely with the Executive Director and leadership team to support employee engagement and preserve CIGA's strong culture of collaboration, service, and connection.

Prior to joining CIGA, Pilar spent more than 10 years with Sedgwick Claims Management Services, where she was assigned to the CIGA account and developed extensive knowledge of CIGA claims operations. This experience provided her with a strong foundation in claims administration and a unique perspective on the insurance industry.

Pilar earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Dominican University in San Rafael California and subsequently obtained a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Outside of work, she enjoys crafting, being a devoted Los Angeles Dodgers fan, and creating lasting memories with her family, especially her first granddaughter.
